The Souspoon

The Souspoon

I was inspired to create this product when faced with the task of reinventing a kitchen tool. After interviewing friends and family, I learned the many ways to improve this tool. Through dozens of concept ideations and prototypes, I finally settled on this design. Constructed on the lathe, this wooden ladle was designed with multiple holes to allow for straining and a spout for better pouring. I designed this spoon for my mother. My main objectives were to create holes to allow for straining and a spout for easy pouring. I did this because often times when eating my mom’s famous chicken noodle soup, I ask for extra “good stuff”, meaning less broth. This spoon allows you to serve your dish perfectly to your liking.
