When tasked to redesign a product for Type 1 Diabetes, I was immediately drawn to the Omnipod. My goal was to redesign an Omnipod for kids to reinvent the process of applying the device. By creating a fun experience that builds confidence and eliminates fear. I decided to partner with Welly’s, the trend-setting first-aid company that changed the stigma against bandaids. ‘Omnipod Kids’ will inspire children with T1D to take control of their diabetes with pride. In order to make the Omnipod better fit for kids, I decided to change the unboxing process, size of the device, adhesive and application.
